Holidays in the Czech Republic

Austria, Germany, Poland, Hungary and Slovakia

Slovakia lies to the south east of the Czech Republic. It is a beautiful country with historic towns and beautiful countryside.
Slovakia's capital city Bratislava lies in the west of the country and the old city of Kosice lies in the east. Both are served by direct flights from the UK. Running along the border with the Czech Republic and Poland are a series of mountain ranges - the Carpathians and the Tatras. These are popular with walkers.
The eastern end of Slovakia is particularly rich in folk architecture, including the UNESCO-listed wooden churches.

All-year

Brno plus Vienna or Bratislava (or both)

You will be amazed how easy it is to visit these beautiful cities from Brno. Vienna is only 2 hrs away and Bratislava 1.5 hrs. It is even possible to do it as a day-trip, but why not make it a multi-centre holiday holiday?

Vienna - Bratislava Bike Tour

This short (3 day) bike tour continues along the Danube cycling path. Although short and mostly flat this trail is full of interest - past castles, a former Roman city, vineyards, and a primeval forest. This tour can be one leg in a 3-centre (Vienna, Bratislava and Brno) 3-country holiday.

May - Sept

Kosice Plus

Wizzair flies direct to Kosice from London Luton. Kosice  makes a good starting point for holidays in the Tatra mountains or exploring the rich heritage of the region.

You can take the sleeper train from Kosice to Prague to create a two-centre holiday. Or you have the option of a short-hop flight between the two cities.
